Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:46 p.m.
We took our first weekend trip to Briana’s parents house this weekend. Many of her family had not met Sarah yet, so Mimi had a party at her house. We had a great time with lots of family and friends.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:44 p.m.
Today granny Eunice and aunt Lori came up for the day with Briana’s mom. They had a great time playing with Joshua and meeting Sarah for the first time.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:43 p.m.
Briana’s sister Amber came for a visit today. She is on her way home for the week for her spring break. She had a nice time cuddling with her niece and nephew.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:41 p.m.
We dedicated Sarah today at church. We are committing to raising her according to God’s Word and Love. We pray that she, along with Joshua, may come to know Jesus one day as her personal Lord and Savior. We had a nice time with the family and friends who joined us for the occasion.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:40 p.m.
Michelle, a missionary in Russia, is visiting in the states for the month. She came and spent an afternoon with us and had a fabulous time with the children. It had been almost five years since we had seen her last. I orginally met Michelle in Russia in 1999 on a mission trip with Frazer.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:38 p.m.
Our niece celebrated her 10th birthday today with all the family. We ate at the Japanese restaurant Miyako. Sarah and Joshua wore the cute matching outfits that Robin brought them back from China.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:35 p.m.
Aren't they the cutest little children! Joshua loves giving his sister kisses. It is just hard to catch him being still enough to get a good picture of it!
Briana Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:33 p.m.
Briana’s aunts traveled from great distances to meet Sarah. Briana’s mom drove up from Baldwin County with her sisters, Mary Lou and Jeannie, and her long time friend, Sue. We had a nice lunch and visit before they returned to Fairhope, Mobile, and New Orleans that afternoon.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:32 p.m.
We had a nice visit with Jason’s dad and his brothers and sisters today. Aunt Katie came down for North Carolina just to meet Sarah. Jason’s brothers, Daniel and Jonathan came as well to meet Sarah for the first time. Ruby came with Jonathan to meet her too. Robin joined us later! And, of course, Joshua had a blast playing with Pa!
Briana Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:31 p.m.
Life as a family of four has been nice these last few months. This assortment of pictures is from January to April 2006.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:29 p.m.
We celebrated Joshua's First Birthday on October 23, 2005 since his birthday was the next day on a Monday. We had a lovely time at Oak Park with family and friends. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber even dropped by for a visit!
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 5, 2006, 2:25 p.m.
This is an assortment of pictures of things from the rest of 2005. We had quite an exciting year with Joshua and ended it off by adding Sarah!
Jason Wohlford—Wednesday, Febrary 1, 2006, 6:55 p.m.
I plan to move all services to a new server this Saturday. During this move there will be significant downtime. I apologize for the inconvenience, but the results will be very beneficial. The new server is much faster and more stable than the old one allowing a great deal more room to grow. Also, it will be moving locations from my home to my work at Davis Direct. (We just changed our company name.) Many thanks to all who donated money for the new computer and for my boss Emile for letting me use the company T1.
Briana Wohlford—Sunday, January 8, 2006, 8:20 a.m.
Sarah was one week old today. Wow time sure does fly when you are tired and having fun! Grandonna made it over today to get to meet Sarah. Due to the latest horse show, she had been out of town for the last week. She enjoyed getting to know her 10th granddaughter. Joshua also enjoyed getting to play with his Grandonna. He is only a little bit of jealousy has been when other people come to see Sarah and the visitors attention is not on him. Robin brought Katy and Ella Grace for lunch just in time for Jason to join us too. We had tasty pizza and a good time. Joshua was even more thrilled to have cousins to play with at this point. He laughed so hard as Katy and Ella Grace played. He was so excited he could barely finish his lunch to join them. Later that evening, I took some good pictures of Jason and the children. Okay, good is debatable, but they were memorable!
Briana Wohlford—Sunday, January 8, 2006, 8:16 a.m.
Sarah will share this birthday with quite a number of people in our family and church family. Sarah Kathryn Portis is the proudest to share Sarah's birthday as they also share their namesake, Sarah Cole Portis. Also in the family is Ben Brewer's new wife Amanda. In our church family, Gene and Heather McNeely welcomed their son, Jonathan Ryals McNeely, later the same day. I believe Dr. Phillips delivered him too. Dr. Phillips was a busy man that day! Also in our church family, two other girls I taught in children's choir (besides Sarah Kathryn) share the same birthday. To all of the rest of you who share December 28 as your birthday, know that your parents secretly remember you as a great little tax deduction as well besides a wonderful blessing!
Briana Wohlford—Sunday, January 8, 2006, 8:12 a.m.
We brought Sarah home on December 30 (our anniversary), and received a great welcome from "big brother" Joshua. His tenderness was overwhelming. We all sat in the floor as Joshua took turns from hugging myself and Jason while loving on Sarah in between. It was the sweetest moment. Jason and I took turns crying as we loved finally being at home with our children. My mom stayed with us for the rest of the day helping to get the house in order and cooking us a fabulous anniversary meal before she headed home to sleep in her own bed. Christy Corum came to visit and Joshua had tons of fun playing with the book she brought him. Later that evening, my cousin Katrina Patterson and her husband Casey stopped by. They were on their way home from visiting family in Baldwin County and headed back to Birmingham. It was great to see them too. We had a fine first day at home and a pretty pleasant first night too! Throughout the next few days we had many more visitors come to see the new addition to the family.
Briana Wohlford—Sunday, January 8, 2006, 7:58 a.m.
On December 28, 2005, we welcomed Sarah Christine Wohlford into the world at 12:05 p.m. My wonderful husband Jason stood by my side while my mom and best friend assisted as well. My nurse, Michelle, was excellent. It was obvious she loved her job. Dr. Matthew Phillips arrived in perfect timing just before noon, and after about five minutes of pushing, Sarah breathed air and saw light. She weighed seven pounds two and a half ounces and was 19 and a half inches long. My sister Amber, father-in-law Eddie, and Jason's cousin Josh were all waiting in the hall to greet Sarah. Soon after, Oma, Robin, Katy, Anne Louise, Jodie, Lisa and Sarah Austin arrived to meet Sarah as well. A few hours later, my dad brought "the big brother" Joshua to meet his little sister. Joshua was glad to see us all! We were an instant family of four. We had many more visitors that afternoon as we enjoyed being together. Thank you all for your prayers, support, and encouragement.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, December 24, 2005, 8:30 a.m.
Merry Christmas everyone. Briana and I are doing well overall. We've all been sick recently. Joshua and Briana are mostly done with it. Sad to say but I'm still quite sick and am dreading going to all the wonderful Christmas parties.
Briana is nearly nine months pregnant and we are eagerly anticipating our second child's arrival. We had a great deal of contractions Thursday night, but after about three hours they subsided. In any case, Briana will be induced Wednesday the 28th and we will finally get to meet Sarah.
Our one year old, Joshua, has been such a joy in our lives. He's a fantastic little kid. I expected all the work that come with fatherhood, but I never expected all the joy. I am richly blessed.
Jason Wohlford—Tuesday, September 1, 2005, 7:30 p.m.
We've decided a name for our little girl. It will be Sarah Christine Wohlford. First and foremost, we think this is a fine name for a young lady. Also, this name is also drived from two family names. Sarah is my mother's mother; and Christine is Briana's mother's mother. But make no mistake that Jason's grandmother Louise or Briana's grandmother Eunice are no less important!
Thanks for our friend Mandy Burbank for doing etymology research on the name Sarah Christine. Sarah is Hebrew for princess. The Sarah in the bible was Abraham's wife and her original name Sarai meant contentious. Christine is a french form of the word Christian. Lord willing, we will one day have our little Christian Princess!
Jason Wohlford—Tuesday, September 1, 2005, 5:21 p.m.
Thanks to one of my co-workers, Brian Gonsoulin, I've come upon a FEMA pdf and a separate website that helps assess damage in New Orleans, Louisiana from Hurricane Katrina and the recent flooding. After locating Aunt Jeannie's home on the maps, I compiled a pdf of the notes around her home. You can find them here. It looks like there has been minimal damage to their neighborhood. Update: Please note that the arial photography is not current, but is actually several years old.
Jason Wohlford—Tuesday, August 16, 2005, 11:56 a.m.
We went to see Dr. Phillips today. First we had an ultrasound and found out that we're going to have a little girl! She currently weighs 8oz and is expected around January, 11, 2006. We were also very glad to see my sister Robin anxiously waiting in the foyer of the doctor's office. It was as much fun telling her as it was finding out. There is still a concern of placenta previa, but we're quite hopeful everything will be fine. I hope to have ultrasound pictures up sometime this evening. Updated: Pictures of our baby girl are now posted.

Clay Crosse, the Dove award winning musician, is coming to Montgomery. Clay has been teaming up with adoptive parents from around the country to perform benefit concerts. Clay will be performing a concert for my sister and brother-in-law Robin and Frank Pass and their adoption of Ella Grace. He will be performing on Friday, August 19, 2005 at Christ Community Church on Ryan Road in East Montgomery. This concert is free. A love offering will be given following the concert. The love offering will benefit both the Clay and Pass families and their adoptions from China. Clay Crosse is an outstanding musician. Its really quite an honor to have him in our little town of Montgomery, Alabama. Please come and enjoy a night of great music and a celebration of the redemptive, adoptive love of Christ. For more information, please go to ClayCrosseConcert.com.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 6, 2005, 12:09 p.m.
My sister Robin and her husband Frank are adopting. In the bible there is frequent mention of adoption and how God chooses to adopt broken people who trust in Him into God's perfect family. When choosing a country to adopt from Robin found out that the culture and policies of China are as such that girls and especially those with special needs are quickly abonded by their parents. Because of these reasons and many others, Frank and Robin both feel the supernatural leading of God to adopt a girl with special needs from China. Please pray for them and my new niece Ella Grace. Frank and Robin will be traveling to China starting Thursday, August 18. The day they meet and adopt Ella Grace Pass, also know as "Gotcha Day," will be Monday, August 22, 2005. More information can be found on their website as PassKids.com. Update: I've also been told that Saturday, August 20 is known as "Wife's Birthday."
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 6, 2005, 11:24 a.m.
My sister Robin is a blogger! Robin Wohlford Pass has her on website at PassKids.com. Her website is dedicated to all things Pass family, especially her three children Anne Louise, Katy, and Ella Grace. I'm glad to be hosting and helping with her site. Frank's website (Robin's husband) is through his church Christ Community Church.

Several months ago my almost mom's mother and my sister's grandmother JoAnn passed away. JoAnn was a part of my life for as long as I can remember. She was there every Christmas giving me a little gift and at every important family function giving me her little hug. It was honor to be one of her pallbearers. JoAnn your presence will be missed. The obituary that appeared in the Montgomery Advertiser follows. Furthermore, a moving photo montage of JoAnn's life can be found at the Making Everlasting Memories website.

In April, Joe Reeves of Malu made me the official malu webmaster. Malu is a rag tag bunch of guys (gurls welcome) who dig GNU/Linux. Linux is in an alternative operating system to Microsoft's Windows and Apple's Mac OS X. Malu is an acronym that stands for Montgomery Area Linux Users and is pronounced like may-lu. Being webmaster entails me hosting the main Malu website and the fairly active Malu mailing list. I'm honored to do it guys! We've also setup a development website for any upcoming changes to the website. Updated: Website now out of development.
Jason Wohlford—Saturday, August 6, 2005, 9:43 a.m.
Good morning everyone. I apologize for the lack of updates on my website. I've been quite busy with a wonderful growing boy named Joshua! He makes a papa proud! I've also been working hard helping my family and friends with their computer and technology needs. I've nearly cleared my table of other pressing things and will be soon working more on my own website.
Please be aware until I'm done, the website is once again in a state of flux. I hope to make a stronger infrastructure for easier updates of news, pictures, movies, and other things. Eventually, I'll have in place a system where Briana can post news too. I will also finally show off my Graphic Design talents.

In this movie I try to get Joshua to say his first word. At only five months old he's come so far. I think he takes after his father.

Happy birthday Oma! Celebration photos of my Oma's 80th birthday party. We had some fine dinning at Blue Willow in Montgomery, Alabama. It was quite a time! And as always it was good to see the family. She will officially turn 80 on Wednesday, January 26, 2005.
Jason Wohlford—Sunday, October 31, 2004
Joshua is one week old today. Happy birthday, little buddy. Mommy and daddy are so happy that you're part of our little family. We look forward to the next weeks and years with eager anticipation.
Tomorrow, will be Briana's first day as full time mom. Her mother, Brenda, went back home this past Friday to Fish River, Alabama from Montgomery, Alabama. She was a big help in keeping the house in order and taking up some night shifts. As for myself I'd really love another week with my wife and new son, but as things must be I'll be going back to work tomorrow. As we adjust to this new schedule, please be considerate and hold off on frequent visits this up coming week. Food always welcome.

Thank you to all who have called, visited, or sent their regards. We will continue to stay at Jackson hospital until Tuesday morning in room 462. All are more than welcome to come by and see baby Joshua! If visiting please do so on Monday between 10:00 am to 12:00 noon or 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. This will help mother and baby recover from labor and delivery. Richly blessed, Jason and Briana Wohlford.

Thanks so much to Tiffany Hudgins who did a wonderful job putting it all together. We will sorely miss her and Jay as they move to Auburn.

This morning, I received an encouraging email from Andrew Wohlford. Drew was passing through cyberspace on his way to some other place and wound up finding this little site. Drew's not blood related that I know of, but he hold's that same wonderful last name and the same great passion for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Shout out to all his family Brenda, Jon, and Sarah. God bless!

We now have video! Baby Wohlford's edited ultrasound from May is now online. You will need Quicktime 6 to view the movie. Also, Briana went to see her wonderful doctor, Dr. Matthew Phillips from Ob/Gyn Associates, on June 28th. Briana and baby Wohlford are doing great. Baby's heartbeat was around 140 bpm. We have about four months to go. We're both excited and looking forward to baby's birth around October 20, 2004. Speaking of birthdays, last Thursday Baby gave daddy an early present. For the first time I felt him move! He is very active right before mommy goes to bed. Its the first time fatherhood seems real. I'm gonna be a daddy! And just to reiterate, we don't know if its a boy or a girl.
Jason Wohlford—Sunday, June 20, 2004
After several months of on going work I've decided to start publishing a new design for the Wohlford Family Website. I apologize for the long delay in new articles. Hope ya'll enjoy. Much thanks for the inspiration of the work done at CSS Zen Garden, 13pt, Waferbaby, Wired, the redesign at Dev Edge, the excellent CSS guides and tutorials at Western Civ, and the incredible insight to style at A List Apart.
Jason Wohlford—Sunday, June 20, 2004—Father's Day
We keep getting asked "Is it a boy or girl?" We'll we're praying for a boy or a girl. Hopeful not both or neither. Alright, alright, kidding aside we won't be finding out. We recently had the opportunity to find out but decided to decline from knowing much to the chagrin of my wonderful sister Robin. It will just have to be a surprise. Oh, and to answer the other question, the baby's room is yellow with jungle animals.
During the ultrasound we learned baby Wohlford is still doing quite well. The pregnancy is proceeding along at a normal pace with all indicators being positive. We also have new pictures and now a video! I hope to have the video available online this upcoming week. The video is awe inspiring and reminds me of the bible's description of us as being fearfully and wonderfully made. Its amazing that a complete baby is made within nine months. Its so neat to see the baby's heart beat and watch it move around in mommy's tummy. It also reminds me I'm gonna be a daddy! Ahh!

In celebration of Briana's last day of school we decided to party with the Damrons. We drove six and half hours to visit the Damron family in Jacksonville, Florida. As always we had a blast and enjoyed touring the oldest living city in America, St. Petersburg, Florida. Thanks for hosting us Teressa and Farell!
Jason Wohlford—Sunday, June 20, 2004
Briana stopped teaching seventh grade math at Millbrook Middle School on May 21, 2004. At least for the time being, she'll be a full time domestic engineer, also known as stay-at-home mom, homemaker, or just simply housewife. We feel this choice will help us fulfill our God given role in raising our children and have worked hard to make it possible. We are looking forward to the future God holds for us. I know Briana will dearly miss teaching, but we're certain God will use her in other ways.
Jason Wohlford—Tuesday, April 13, 2004
Mrs. Laura Salter Carroll loaned her maternity clothes to the Wohlford family yesterday. There were quite a few excellent outfits given. Briana throughly enjoyed going through the stash and playing dress up last night. Today she wore her first pregnancy outfit to school. What fun! Thanks Laura.
If you would like to donate your old baby stuff to the Wohlford family, we would greatly appreciate it. Teresa Damron has already donated a neat high tech baby chair. Donna von Gal (Grandonna) is donating a beautiful white baby crib. And Oma (Lousie Wohlford) has started a collection of Luvs diapers. Briana also has several registries/ available online at Pottery Barn, Target, and Babies R Us. More will be coming as we register.
Update: Sunday, June 20, 2004: We are also registered at Storkland in Eastchase which is only available offline. Also of note, Babies R Us and Toys R Us are the same company by a different name. The Toys R US in Montgomery has a department dedicated to Babies R Us baby stuff, but Birmingham has an entire Babies R US store near the Riverchase Galleria. What fun!

This weekend Briana and I traveled with the Damron Family to their new home in Jacksonville, Florida. We will sorely miss Farrell, Teresa, little Farrell, Amber, Ashleigh, their dog Dusty, and all four of their cats. Thanks for befriending us, guys. It was always a pleasure.
Friday night Admiral movers finished packing everything Teresa hadn't had a chance to pack yet. Saturday morning the movers came back and loaded everything up in the big yellow Penske van. We all headed out for Jacksonville shortly thereafter. We arrived to their new home around 10:00 p.m. Sunday, Farrell and I unloaded all their stuff. Briana and I got up Monday morning and headed back to Montgomery, Alabama. Boy are we tired. The time change doesn't help either.
We enjoyed getting the opportunity to help the Damrons move. It was quite an adventure! You can find more pictures of the move on Briana's site.

Baby Wohlford's edited ultrasound from Ob/Gyn Associates. Shows baby's profile, arms, heart and heartbeat measurement, cranium and measurement, anterior profile, baby streching and moving, spine, ribs, ear, and right eye socket. Does not show gender.

Yesterday, Briana's blood work came in from her OB/GYN doctor. All of her numbers looked great! Actually, they were unusually high. The doctor scheduled an ultrasound because they were concerned that there might be twins. Briana and I were both very excited at the possibility. Unfortunately, it's just one. But a very healthy one. It has about 170 bpm heart rate. We saw the heart flicker as it pulsed with life. Also, while we were watching the Wohlford Kid moved! It was so incredible! As of today the ultrasound technician measured the baby to be 21mm.

We often have family members ask us what we'd like as gifts for various special occasions. We both feel very blessed to have such a generous family who loves us and wants to buy us stuff! As such we will be posting wish lists online. I've already started a wish list for me at Amazon. Consider creating one yourself. It makes a whole lot easier to shop. Oh, anything from Target is always welcome.

If you would like an up-to-date Wohlford or Portis family address book, please contact me and I'll send one to you. The address book is in PDF format for your viewing pleasure. It should print well too.
I hope to have a secure version online soon just for family. It will be based on LDAP. That means you will be able to hook it into your computer's address book for easy viewing.

Briana's granny Collier had her homecoming Wednesday, February 4th, 2004. We attended her heartfelt services this past Saturday. She would have been glad to hear her family's stories about how much she loved them and they loved her. She will be sorely missed.
Nonetheless, we are happy she is home in Heaven. After two years of being bed-ridden it was a welcome passage to see such a strong and frisky woman move on. We are certain that she is in a better place with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There has been some really nasty stuff going around on the Internet lately. I wanted to post something about it hopes that you would not fall victim to the phishing scams. It can cause serious financial problems. Beware! I myself have received two very convincing phony emails. Each one looked like real email from their respective companies, but was in fact a complete and total scam (see Citibank example). Accompanied with a bug in Microsoft's Internet Explorer (patch released this week), the link included in these phony emails looks like you've actually gone to a reputable company's website like Citibank, PayPal, or even the Department of Homeland Security. Not only do these scams exist in email, but the bad guys are now starting to call homes to do doing a phishing phone scam.
Please read the alert from the US Federal Trade Commission. ZDNet has also published an article that's a little more of an interesting read. I'd recommend updating your home computers (Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP, not Macs) with the most current software patches available from Microsoft. I'd also recommend using a current version Norton Anti-virus. Anti-virus software isn't directly related to the scam, but is just a must in the Windows world.

I now have a family calendar up for viewing. It basically has birthday's and special events in my and Briana's life. In honor of our most recent birthday girl, Lisa Frey, here is one of her favorite sayin's from Jim Elliot who gave his life for Christ:

Jason Wohlford—Wednesday, August 27, 2003
Tonight at our church dinner, Bob found out some more bad news. The International Mission Board for the Southern Baptist churches has canceled all travel to Iraq until September 12th. This does not bode well for our mission trip in October. The IMB has stated that they are continuing to monitor the safety and security concerns daily. Nonetheless, Briana and I are still planning on going on this trip. Please join us in prayer over this matter.
Jason Wohlford—Tuesday, August 26, 2003
Bob emailed me today with some bad news. There seems to be some concern about the dates we've currently planed on, October 8-18. The first week of Mission Iraq happens to coincide with her fall break. This could pose a big problem for Briana being able to go. Its been tricky getting her off work.

Our passports are in the mail as of Friday, August 22nd. We used PassportsandVisas.com expedite them. Although they seem like a legit website, we are both a little uneasy about them handling our very important documents. Fortunately, we should have them back by next Tuesday.
